The Murcia native is determined that this should be a key part of his legacy. Thus, despite missing the Mutua Madrid Open due to injury, the world number two visited the Caja Magica on Tuesday to check first-hand that the ‘In motion for children’ exhibition was in impeccable condition.

The exhibition encourages reflection on opportunities in childhood through Alcaraz’s personal and sporting story. The provides a window into Carlitos’ professional and personal journey, his role models and some of his biggest achievements, all with the goal of raising awareness of the main factors that influence the development of children and underline the need to support them so that they can realise their full potential.

‘In motion for children’ is an adaptation of the exhibition ‘Feet on the Ground’, held last year in Murcia, and will soon start its tour of other Spanish cities. The edition presented in Madrid has been designed specifically for the Mutua Madrid Open venue, preserving the essence and message of the original exhibition with an engaging, playful and experiential approach.

“We see childhood as a pivotal stage when the foundations for the future are laid. We want to raise awareness of this period, and what we do is offer a journey through Carlos’ sporting and life journey. You’ll see curiosities, kit he has worn, some of the most important trophies he has won and much more”, explained Beatriz Garfia, director of the Alcaraz Foundation, during a press conference in the Caja Magica. “What we want is for people to reflect on health and education. Ultimately, child vulnerability exists alongside us, and we need to pay much more attention to opportunities at this crucial stage of life. We want to get everyone to take action for childhood”.

Visitors will be able to see various objects linked to Alcaraz’s career, such as rackets, kit, trainers and childhood trophies, as well as several of his Grand Slam titles. There are also other surprising elements that allow visitors to learn about his story from a human and social perspective.

“It’s a very special project. Having it here at the Mutua Madrid Open is a hugely important step; there are many young people and children who at Alcaraz as an idol and will discover that he also wants to help, that he wants to use his influence for these wonderful initiatives”, added Garbiñe Muguruza, co-director of the tournament, at the exhibition’s presentation. “It’s perfect that it’s here at the Caja Magica”.

The exhibition centres around three key ideas. Firstly, it focuses on some of the main factors that affect childhood development, such as environment, education or health. And finally, it invites visitors to reflect on the concept of success: what it truly means to triumph and what it represents for each individual.

The ‘In motion for children’ exhibition can be seen on Level -2 of the Mutua Madrid Open throughout the tournament, from 20 April to 3 May 2026, from opening time until 20:00.

The influence of Carlos Alcaraz now extends far beyond the tennis court.
