Garbiñe Muguruza and Feliciano López, captains for the Mutua Madrid Open’s Charity Day

For the third consecutive year, excitement, fun and sportsmanship are guaranteed with an unmissable charity evening. Tennis players Feliciano López and Garbiñe Muguruza will captain the two teams formed by several tennis players, sportsmen and celebrities, who will be giving their best in a variety of games for Mutua Madrid Open Charity Day, which takes place on Friday 29 April at 18:00 on the Manolo Santana Stadium – Centre Court in the Caja Mágica.

All proceeds from ticket sales for 29 April at the Mutua Madrid Open will go towards humanitarian aid for the Syrian refugees through UNHCR (The UN’s agency for refugees), CEAR (Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid), UNICEF Comité Español and Mensajeros de la Paz.

The charity event will have the same format that has successfully seen tennis players and celebrities come together in recent years, including names such as Iker Casillas, Elsa Pataky, Andy Murray, Eva González, Serena Williams, Arturo Valls, Cristina Pedroche, Rudy Fernández and Dani Rovira, among others. The Mutua Madrid Open will start to reveal the names of the sportsmen and celebrities who will be taking part in this charity show alongside Garbiñe and Feliciano.

The Director of the Mutua Madrid Open, Manolo Santana, spoke of his gratefulness for the collaboration of so many people from the world of culture, television and music who will be members of Garbiñe and Feliciano’s teams: “The commitment from Garbiñe, Feli and all the participants has again shown a giving side that many people are not aware of. We are thankful that they are willing to help in this way and I’m convinced that with their help we will be able to raise money that will be very useful in helping the refugees”.

Purchasing a Centre Court ticket for Friday 29 April at the Mutua Madrid Open allows entry to Charity Day. Tickets can be bought on the website www.madrid-open.com or by phoning 902183842, and they start at 7 euros. All money raised will go towards projects for humanitarian aid, shelter and protection that will help the refugees of this serious crisis to reconstruct their lives.
