Iberdrola, a staunch supporter of women’s sport and official sponsor of the Real Federación Española de Tenis, did not want to miss out on one of the world’s biggest women’s tennis events. Therefore, Iberdrola, a world leader in renewables and smart networks, is going to support the best players on the planet through the signing of a sponsorship agreement with the Spanish tournament, which this year stages its 22nd edition.
The Mutua Madrid Open, an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event will bring together the biggest stars of the game in the Caja Mágica from 22 April to 5 May. By means of this agreement, Iberdrola has bolstered its drive for equality through sport, through which it already supports 600,000 sportswomen.
The company continues to exercise its commitment to women’s tennis through its support of the Real Federación Española de Tenis and its women’s team, and now through its support of the Mutua Madrid Open.
Iberdrola’s ambassadors include tennis player Paula Badosa, building a path with her towards true equality in sport.
In addition, the company currently backs 32 national sports federations, benefitting 600,000 female athletes, that is, two of every three affiliated women in Spain. It also lends its name to 33 leagues, all of them top-flight, and over 100 competitions with naming rights.
With this new commitment, Iberdrola is contributing to the drive for success in women’s sport, favouring equal opportunities, and fostering healthy habits in society from an early age.
