Iberdrola, a staunch supporter of women’s sport and the Real Federación Española de Tenis, will again be an official sponsor of the Mutua Madrid Open this year.

The Mutua Madrid Open, an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event will bring together the biggest stars of the game in the Caja Mágica from 21 April to 4 May. By means of the renewal of this agreement, Iberdrola has bolstered its commitment to promote equality through sport.

In the tennis world, as well as the Mutua Madrid Open, Iberdrola sponsors the Real Federación Española de Tenis and the Iberdrola women’s national team.

Its Iberdrola Ambassadors programme, through which it seeks to create new role models for children and to shine a light on a group of athletes in the media and on social media, includes tennis players Paula Badosa and Sara Sorribes.

Iberdrola has been the driving force behind women’s sports since 2016. It currently supports 35 national federations and lends its name to over 160 competitions. With its commitment, over these eight years, it has contributed to an increase in membership in these federations of 80%, to almost 820,000. Through this commitment, Iberdrola contributes to the success of women’s sport, favouring equal opportunities and promoting healthy habits in society from an early age.
