The 2023 Virtual Mutua Madrid Open, the eSports competition organised by the Mutua Madrid Open, will this year be held in association with PlayStation, who will promote the tournament by giving a PlayStation 5 to each of the eight players who qualify for the final stage by winning the heats that will take place in La Vaguada and at four Orange Stores.
The 2023 Virtual Mutua Madrid Open, which will also be supported by Orange and Nacon, will be played on the Tennis World Tour 2 video game on PlayStation 5 with 10,000 euros in prizes (5,000 euros for the winner of the final stage, 3,000 to second place and 2,000 for third), as well as the eight PS5s and various Nacon accessory packs.
The tournament will include 8 qualifying heats (in person), which will take place as follows:
First qualifying heat: 15 April at 17.00 (La Vaguada)
Second qualifying heat: 16 April at 17.00 (La Vaguada)
Third qualifying heat: 21 April at 17.00 (Puerta del Sol Orange Store)
Fourth qualifying heat: 21 April at 17.00 (La Gavia Orange Store)
Fifth qualifying heat: 21 April at 17.00 (Alcalá Orange Store)
Sixth qualifying heat: 21 April at 17.00 (Tres Aguas Orange Store)
Seventh qualifying heat: 22 April at 17.00 (La Vaguada)
Eighth qualifying heat: 23 April at 17.00 (La Vaguada)
As well as sealing a place in the final stage, the winners of the eight heats will receive a PlayStation 5 as a reward for their victory, while the runners-up will also qualify for the final stage and take home a gaming pack (a Nacon Asymmetric Wireless PS4 controller and some RIG 500 PRO HC Gen2 headphones).
There will also be an opportunity to reach the final stage in six other heats that will take place in the Caja Mágica (24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 April). The champions and runners-up will earn a place in the final stage and take home a gaming pack (a Nacon Asymmetric Wireless PS4 controller and some RIG 500 PRO HC Gen2 headphones).
In parallel, the 2023 Virtual Mutua Madrid Open will have a 128-player online stage, which will decide two further finalists for the Caja Mágica stage. The competition will run from 17 April to 1 May (players can register from 10 to 17 April at www.madridopenvirtual.com).
The final stage of the 2023 Virtual Mutua Madrid Open will take place on 5 May at 11.00 in the Caja Mágica.
