Estrella Damm and the Mutua Madrid Open have announced the renewal of the brand’s sponsorship agreement with the tournament for the next five editions, continuing a relationship that began in 2008. The agreement was signed in the Caja Mágica by Jorge Villavecchia, the general director of Damm, and Gerard Tsobanian, CEO of the Mutua Madrid Open, in an event that was also attended by Jofre Riera, director of Damm Sponsorship, and Javier Burgos, marketing director of the Mutua Madrid Open.
The new agreement means Estrella Damm will maintain its position as the Official Beer of the Mutua Madrid Open, as well as its presence around the venue and on the courts, and natural mineral water Fuente Liviana will continue to be an Official Collaborator with the competition. As is now traditional, the brand will use the vibrant Estrella Damm Lounge to offer spectators the best music and entertainment around during the tournament weeks. Estrella Damm will also be present at Expo Damm, which houses an exhibition on the history of Spanish tennis, reinforcing its ties to the history of this sport.
The news means that Estrella Damm has renewed its commitment to the best of men’s and women’s tennis, in which the best players in the world will gather from 24 April to 7 May. At this year’s event – as has already been the case in the WTA 1000 event for two years –, the Mutua Madrid Open will be a two-week ATP Masters 1000 tournament, in keeping with the spirit of growth that has defined the event since its arrival in Madrid in 2002. With the change, the ATP main draw at the Mutua Madrid Open will grow from 56 to 96 players and from 8 to 12 days. The WTA competition will also increase its draw from 64 to 96 players and will take place in parallel with the men’s competition in a move that will guarantee spectacular tennis and offer fans a huge range of players to follow in the Caja Mágica.
