With the matches in the bottom half of the women’s final draw complete, tomorrow will see the start of the second round in the Mutua Madrid Open for the players drawn on the same side as the world No. 1, Ashleigh Barty. Likewise, the draw for the ATP qualifiers at the Madrid ATP Masters 1000 having been made on Friday, the first round of qualifying for the main draw will take place on Saturday.
In the women’s competition, Ashleigh Barty will open the day’s play at 11:00 in the Manolo Santana Stadium against Tamara Zidansek. The Caja Mágica’s centre court will also host the encounters between Petra Kvitova (seed No. 9) and Angelique Kerber, as well as that of Jil Teichmann and Spaniard Paula Badosa.
