SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS IMPLEMENTED

We obtained ISO 20121 certification in 2021, which has been audited annually and successfully maintained to date.

Over the past five years, we have implemented a wide range of sustainable solutions across the event.

  1. Communities
  • Developing synergies with sponsors and partners to pursue sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborating with sponsors and partners to showcase relevant sustainability data and actions during the event.
  • Providing education and raising social awareness on recycling through the use of recycling bins and informational messaging.
  • Informing suppliers about potential waste‑reduction practices.
  • Engaging the local community by prioritizing local purchasing and hiring wherever possible.
  • Promoting diversity and equality in the jobs generated by the event. We require our staffing providers to prioritize the recruitment of people with intellectual disabilities for roles in which such inclusion is feasible.
  • Accessibility measures for people with autism.
  • Sharing and disseminating the event’s sustainability results with stakeholders.

  1. Sustainable Procurement
  • For pest control, we use sustainable solutions whenever possible, such as employing birds of prey to manage the pigeon population.
  • Assessing merchandise, sustainable food options and eco‑label certifications.
  • Using high‑efficiency appliances.
  • Evaluating alternatives to plastic and single‑use materials and reducing single‑use plastics as much as possible. For example, we use canned water instead of plastic bottles.
  • Assessing the environmental impact of food and beverage consumption and promoting options with the lowest environmental footprint.
  • Ensuring proper waste‑collection management.

  1. Economic Performance
  • Supporting local economic development by generating employment opportunities for the local population.
  • Strengthening customer loyalty through responsible and sustainable event management.

  1. Mobility
  • Optimizing travel arrangements during the organization of the event.
  • Ensuring fuel efficiency in vehicles and machinery.
  • Expanding car‑charging points beyond regulatory requirements.
  • Selecting vehicles for transporting players, sponsors and guests, prioritizing electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Prioritizing passenger‑transport companies committed to sustainable and low‑impact mobility.
  • Prioritizing freight‑transport companies that operate under sustainable and low‑impact criteria.
  • Ensuring accessibility to the main event activities by removing physical barriers that may restrict access for people with disabilities.
  • Collecting data on travel distance and mode of transportation during the ticket‑purchase process.

  1. Infrastructures
  • Using temporary toilets equipped with dispensers, timers and other water‑saving devices.
  • Reusing and renting structures to minimize the use of single‑use materials whenever possible.
  • Recycling and ensuring environmentally responsible disposal of banners and signage materials.
  • Protecting, caring for and maintaining the flora and fauna in the surrounding areas of the event.
