APRIL 21 - MAY 4, 2025

The future of tennis lands in Madrid

The Mutua Madrid Open not only hosts the ATP and WTA competitions in the Caja Magica during the fortnight of competition from 21 April to 4 May, it is also staging the Under-16 event again this season, where you can see the biggest talents in the category. The champions will be decided from 30 April to 3 May on the same courts graced by the stars of world tennis.

After a long calendar across the entire Spanish territory, 32 players (16 boys and 16 girls) have earned themselves a place in the Final Stage since the circuit began in June 2024 in Santander.

Real Sociedad de Tenis de la Magdalena hosted the first heat, where Marc Martín Roca and Maria Diago Martin got the win and the first ticket to the Caja Mágica. In July, Real Club de Tenis San Sebastián provided the stage for the second event, where Óscar Casas Mas and Adriana Monlleo Ramos came out on top.

In September, the tour stopped off at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, which witnessed wins for Alejandro Hernández Ramada and Daria M Grigore, and Club de Tenis Pamplona, where Adriá Velázquez Farre and Carla Guerrero Calvo were victorious.

Real Club Jolaseta in Bilbao was the venue in October for the fifth heat, when Martín Rodríguez Pellicena and Ailish García Fernández got their hands on the trophy. In November it was Club Río Grande in Seville that saw Agustín Siancha Borlenghi and Vega Aguilar Fernández top the podium. BTT Tennis Academy in Valldoreix crowned Alberto Pulido Moreno and Anna Orlando Pellicero.

Halfway through the calendar, the eighth event was held at the Academia Tenis Ferrer in Javea (Alicante), and it was Adolfo Abascal Castaño and Vega Aguilar, for the second time, who took the spoils. From there to Ciudad de la Raqueta in Madrid in December, where Jorge Martínez Vasquez and Maria Koziar won the finals.

In 2025, Real Aeroclub Córdoba kicked off the year with victories for Aleix Galindo Puig and Alexia Paula Bastos Sousa. Murcia Club de Tenis, also in January, put on the eleventh heat and Evan Galea and Marta Gayoso De los Ríos sealed their passage to the final stage.

In February we travelled to Valencia, or more specifically to Sporting Club de Tenis which again crowned Alejandro Hernández Ramada and Adriana Monlleo Ramos. In the same month, at Club de Tenis Málaga it was Darío Ortega Ferrero and Ainara Fernández Sánchez who took the spoils. The circuit then visited Mallorca, for the fourteenth heat, at the Rafa Nadal Academy. There, Toni Escarda Piñeiro and Lucía Rodríguez Domínguez booked themselves a spot in the finals.

Cercle Sabadellés was unable to host the tournament due to the rainy conditions in March and the Caja Magica brought an end to the tour with wins for Daniel Eusamio González and Sofía Barrios García. A further five players qualified due to their performances on the circuit: Álvaro Lago Furio, Óscar Darder Dias, Paola Napal Villanueva, Luisa María Oprescu and Nahia Sánchez-Marín García.

Who will dethrone Eduald González and Juliana Giaccio at the tournament this year? Find out very soon, on 3 May in the Caja Magica.
